It looks like Winnipeg has caught River Trail fever. The city has approved plans for various new River Trails next season.

One trail will run below the Redwood Bridge and connect St. John’s Park with Point Douglas. The trail is planned to be portion of a network that will eventually connect Kildonan Park with Waterfront Drive.

Another trail will be along Bishop Grandin Boulevard from Pembina Highway to Waverley Street, it will connect Hamilton Avenue with Sturgeon Road.

These projects will make up the city’s $3.3-million active transportation spending plan for 2009.
