As announced before, Telus will finally offer the iPhone 3G and 3GS to new and current customers. It will be available on Thursday, November 5, with a range of 3G data plans. This will finally break the strangle that Fido and Rogers has on the Winnipeg iPhone market. Our new Apple Store at Polo Park will also start offering Telus contracts, as well as Fido and Rogers.
Here is pricing for each version of the phone:
Apple iPhone | 3 year term | Regular price |
8GB 3G |
$99.99
|
$599.99
|
16GB 3GS Black or White |
$199.99
|
$699.99
|
32GB 3GS Black or White |

|

Other phones that are also coming out for Telus include: HTC Hero, LG New Chocolate (aka BL40), Blackberry Bold 9700, and the Nokia E71.
Looks like the new HSPA+ network is going to bring a lot of good hardware for Telus customers!
Facts about TELUS’ HSPA+ network:
* Will run on 1900/850 MHz frequency bands and uses standard 3GPP SIM cards.
* Will offer theoretical peak download speeds of 21.6 mbps and 5.76 upload speeds.
* Will use separate channels (parts of the wireless signal) for the data and voice components, so that capacity is reserved for data.
* Will be the largest 3G+ network in Canada, offering coverage for 93% of the Canadian population.
Thanks for the tip Leni and Kevin!
UPDATE: Various readers are reporting that the iPhone will not be available in Manitoba and Saskatchewan on launch day… it looks like we’ll have to wait just a little bit longer.
