Winnipeg has once again made it on the Intelligent Community Forum’s Smart21 list. This is the 9th time in 11 years that Winnipeg has made the list.

The list recognizes 21 communities worldwide that it deems most ready for the 21st century. Communities are selected based on several factors that determine a community’s competitiveness in the digital economy.

“In a year when so many of our residents relied on technology to meet their needs, City of Winnipeg employees continued to find innovative solutions to deliver services” said Glen Cottick, the City’s Acting Director of Innovation and Technology Services.

In June 2021, the list will be shortened to the Top7 Intelligent Communities with one place going on to be crowned the Intelligent Community of the Year in June. Winnipeg had previously been named a Top7 Intelligent Community in 2018, 2016, and 2014.
