The CRTC (Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission) has ordered Canada’s largest phone companies, including MTS, to give back MTS Allstream, to give back $310-million to urban home telephone customers.
The credits will appear on your bill within the next few months and will range from $25 – $90 per customer.
The credit comes from millions of dollars that were charged to customers in effort to increase industry competition. The CRTC has ruled that that money should go back to the customers.
MTS will now also expend their Broadband Internet access to sixteen remote communities in Manitoba. Within the next 4 years, the following communities will now have high-speed Internet access available through MTS:
– Cooks Creek Poplar Point
– Cranberry Portage Rockwood
– Dallas Roseau River
– Falcon River Sandy Bay
– Lee River Sprucewoods
– Lynn Lake St. Eustache
– Nelson House Sunset Bay
– Oswald Woodridge
