The 2011 Big Top Fringe set attendance records this year and could have been even better had it not been for the extreme hot weather.

From July 13 – 24, 2011, paid attendance reached 87,845. Attendance dipped during the scorching heat, but shot up as soon as it cooled down. There were 121 sellouts, and $630,029 in box office revenue was returned to the performers.

The old record, which was set in 2010, was 86,717.

I’m sure local businesses in the exchange, such as the newly opened Poutinerie, thrived during these two weeks!
