The cities 5th annual Bike to Work Day will be held on Friday, June 22, 2012.

Bike to Work Day is an active and energetic opportunity to highlight the environmental, health, and economic benefits of cycling by encouraging Winnipeggers to cycle to work or to school. This year the event also aims to celebrate the City’s $20 million advances in bike-friendly infrastructure. Cyclists are invited to meet in the morning along popular new commuter routes at points called “Bike Pit Stops” on their way to work.

All registered cyclists are invited to the Forks at the end of the work day to wind down with local music and refreshments. A grand prize draw for bikes, bike trailers and vacation packages will add to the excitement. Last year more than 3,000 commuters were counted cycling on event day, an increase of nearly 1,000 from previous years, and the number is expected to continue rising in 2012.
