The Assiniboine Park Zoo has announce the names of the two polar bear cubs.
Over 2,500 votes were cast on the Assiniboine Park and Zoo Facebook page. The names were provided by students from three northern Manitoba schools (Gillam School, George Saunders Memorial School, and Fox Lake School) that are located in the area where the cubs were found.
And the new names are:
- Blizzard for the male cub
- Star for the female cub
Blizzard and Star can now be visited at the International Polar Bear Conservation Centre. The Zoo now has six polar bears:
They can be visited daily at The Assiniboine Park Zoo from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
