The Winnipeg Goldeyes have release the schedule for their upcoming 2017 season. Their 24th season will start on the road on Thursday, May 19 against the expansion Cleburne Railroaders.

The 10-game opening road trip also includes a rematch of last year’s American Association Championship Series against the Wichita Wingnuts.

The Goldeyes’ 2017 home opener is scheduled for Monday, May 29th against the Sioux Falls Canaries. Nine different clubs will visit Shaw Park. The 2017 home slate features three 11:00 a.m. matinee starts on May 31st versus Sioux Falls, June 13th versus Grand Prairie, and July 19th versus St. Paul.

The Goldeyes will host their annual Canada Day game on Saturday, July 1st when the Canaries visit for a 4:00 p.m. first pitch. All remaining Saturday games at Shaw Park are scheduled for 6:00 p.m., while all Sunday contests begin at 1:00p.m.

Monday through Friday home games commence at 7:00 p.m. with the exception of the three matinee starts previously mentioned, and a 1:00 p.m. first pitch on Monday, September 4th for “Fan Appreciation Day”

The American Association once again plays a continuous, 100-game schedule with three division winners and one wild card qualifying for the postseason.

The Goldeyes remain in the American Association North along with the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks, St. Paul Saints, and Canaries. 45 of the Goldeyes’ 100 regular season matches are against divisional opponents with the rival RedHawks making a pair of four-game visits to Shaw Park in July and September.

The 2017 All-Star Game is Tuesday, July 25th and will be hosted by the Can-Am League’s Ottawa Champions at Raymond Chabot Grant Thornton Park.

Spring training kicks off on Saturday, May 6th with the Goldeyes’ annual Open House event at Shaw Park. The Goldeyes also host the RedHawks for a pair of exhibition games on May 10th and 11th. A complete spring training schedule, as well as regular season start times for road games, will be announced at a later date.
