The Liberal government will announce legislation that will legalize marijuana in Canada by July 1, 2018.
The announcement is expected during the week of April 10, right before April 20 (4/20) which has been dubbed Pot Day.
The federal government will be in charge of licensing producers, but the province will decide how marijuana is priced, distributed and sold. The minimum age will be 18 to buy marijuana, but similar to alcohol, provinces will have the option of setting a higher age limit if they wish.
Canadians wanting to grow their own marijuana will be limited to four plants per household.
