Amazon has released a list of 20 finalists of cities that will be the home of its second headquarters. Unfortunately, Winnipeg didn’t make the cut.

Amazon received 238 bids from all over North America. Toronto was the only Canadian city to make the final cut. The second headquarters would have brought a lot to the Winnipeg economy. Amazon plans to employ 50,000 people within 10 years with an average of salary of $100,000 per year.

The 20 finalists are:

  • Atlanta
  • Austin, Tex.
  • Boston
  • Chicago
  • Columbus, Ohio
  • Dallas
  • Denver
  • Indianapolis
  • Los Angeles
  • Miami Montgomery County, Md.
  • Nashville
  • Newark
  • New York
  • Northern Virginia
  • Philadelphia
  • Pittsburgh
  • Raleigh, N.C.
  • Toronto
  • Washington, D.C.

Amazon also received bids from regions in Mexico but Toronto is the only city outside the U.S. that made the list.
