Canada Day at The Forks

Celebrate the true north strong and free with a full day of family-friendly activities, performances and celebration, ending with a spectacular fireworks show at 11:00pm!

With so many people flocking to The Forks for the festivities, plan your transportation in advance! Bike Valet will be on-site offering free, secure bike and helmet storage all day, plan to take the bus or park off-site and walk over OR join one of our guided bike rides!

What is your favorite Canadian animal? Join the WAG in celebrating Canada and make colourful Canadian animal cut outs inspired by the caribou carvings of Chesley Flowers. (Currently on display at the WAG in the exhibition SakKijâjuk)

Experience a pow wow with traditional dancing, stinging and drumming, as well as storytelling through a concept called Human Library where visitors hear first-hand stories and experience from Indigenous people in traditional regalia.

Manitoba Theatre of Young People

Come in and get dramatic! Drama activities in Richardson Hall, snacks, and a costume and selfie area and a make-your-own puppet craft station.
