It’s official! An NFL pre-season game will be played at Winnipeg’s IG Field Thursday, August 22, 2019! It will be the first NFL game hosted in Canada since the Buffalo Bills played at Toronto’s Rogers Centre from 2008-2013.
The exhibition game will be between the Oakland Raiders and Green Bay Packers. Originally, Mosaic Stadium in Regina was the planned destination. However, the Saskatchewan Roughriders are scheduled to play a home game on Saturday, August 24 and it would take too much time to convert an NFL field back to CFL standards before kick off.
The Winnipeg Blue Bombers play road games on August 23 and September 1 which would give Investors Group Field enough time to convert to an NFL standard field and back to CFL.
Tickets will go on sale to the general public on Saturday, June 8 at 10:00am. Tickets will range from $75 to $340 (plus taxes and fees).
