Another round of Manitoba Public Insurance (MPI) rebate cheques could be coming in 2022. This will be the third rebate cheque since the COVID-19 pandemic. To date, customers have received a total of $179 million in rebates.

The cheques will be 15% of the premiums paid in 2021. The average cheque will be between $150 and $200. MPI rates are also expected to decrease by 2.8 per cent.

“Manitobans have been financially impacted by the pandemic,” said Crown Services Minister Jeff Wharton . “We are pleased that this rebate will be welcome news for our community as we all work together in getting through this challenging time in our province.”

If both requests are approved by the PUB, MPI customers can expect to see cheques in early 2022.
