Winnipeg’s 3 largest post-secondary institutions will require students and staff to be fully vaccinated in order to return to campus.
University of Manitoba, University of Winnipeg, and Red Rover College have all announced that vaccinations will be required to help increase the province’s vaccination rate and lower the spread of variants.
University of Manitoba: Students and staff are required to have their first dose by September 22 and their second dose by the end of October. Pop-up vaccination clinics are being planned for the campus. Social distancing measures will still be in place. 3-ply reusable or disposable masks are mandatory for all activities, both outdoor and indoor. Accommodations will be available for anyone unable to be vaccinated due to health or religious concerns.
University of Winnipeg: Students and staff require proof of full vaccination to attend the campus. The university will remain closed to the public. Only authorized staff and students will be permitted. Two or three layer face masks are required for all indoor locations on campus. Accommodations will be available for anyone unable to be vaccinated due to health or religious concerns.
Red River College: Students and staff are required to have their first dose by September 10 and their second dose by October 17. Accommodations will be available for anyone unable to be vaccinated due to health or religious concerns.
