Winnipeg-Born Nick Taylor Wins the RBC Canadian Open

The 70-year Canadian drought is over. Winnipeg-born Nick Taylor is the first Canadian player in almost 70 years to win the national men’s golf championship.

He did it in dramatic fashion with 72-foot eagle putt on the fourth playoff hole to defeat Tommy Fleetwood. The last golfer to win the Canadian Open was Pat Fletcher in 1954 at Point Grey in Vancouver.

This is the 35-year-old’s third PGA Tour win and first since the 2020 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am.
