Winnipeg is set to host one of hip-hop’s most influential independent artists this summer as Chance The Rapper brings his latest tour to Canada Life Centre on July 13, 2026. The Chicago-born star continues to redefine what it means to thrive outside the traditional music industry model, blending chart-topping success with community impact and creative independence.

BIG BOI of OutKast and Snotty Nose Rez Kids will open the show.

Tickets for the Winnipeg show go on sale Friday, April 10 through Ticketmaster.

From the beginning of his career, Chance The Rapper has stood apart as a trailblazer. He made history as the first independent artist to win a Grammy for his groundbreaking mixtape Coloring Book, taking home three awards including Best New Artist and Best Rap Album. His earlier project Acid Rap helped build a devoted fanbase, while his latest album Star Line marks a new creative chapter filled with introspection and global influence.

Created alongside longtime collaborator DexLvL, Star Line blends hip-hop, soul, and experimental sounds while exploring themes of identity, resilience, and legacy. The album draws inspiration from Chance The Rapper’s travels across Ghana, Jamaica, and international art spaces, and features notable collaborations with artists like Lil Wayne, Smino, and Joey Bada$$. The visual direction of the project is shaped by artist Brandon Breaux, whose work has been featured at major institutions including the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago and MOCA Los Angeles.

Winnipeg fans recently got a surprise connection to Chance The Rapper as well. His latest release includes a shoutout to the city via Lil Wayne, adding extra excitement ahead of the tour stop.

Beyond music, Chance continues to make a meaningful impact through his Chicago-based nonprofit SocialWorks. Focused on youth empowerment through arts, education, and civic engagement, the organization has invested more than $12 million into the community through initiatives like OpenMike and the New Chance Fund.

As Chance The Rapper brings his genre-defying sound and purpose-driven artistry to Winnipeg, the July 13 show at Canada Life Centre is shaping up to be one of the must-see concerts of the summer.
