Looking for something fun to do in Winnipeg this summer? Every Sunday from July 5 through September 6, 2026, a section of Corydon Avenue transforms into a pedestrian-friendly destination as part of Open Corydon – Little Italy.

From 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Corydon Avenue between Daly Street and Lilac Street is closed to vehicle traffic, allowing visitors to stroll the avenue, enjoy expanded restaurant patios, shop local businesses, and experience one of Winnipeg’s most vibrant neighbourhoods without cars.

What is Open Corydon?

Open Corydon is a summer initiative by the Corydon Avenue BIZ that turns a portion of Corydon Avenue into a walkable public space every Sunday throughout the summer.

The weekly event creates a lively European-inspired atmosphere where residents and visitors can spend the day exploring local shops, dining on outdoor patios, enjoying live entertainment, and supporting businesses in Winnipeg’s Little Italy.

What You Can Expect

Each Sunday offers something a little different, but visitors can expect:

  • Expanded restaurant patios
  • Live music and street performances
  • Sidewalk sales from local businesses
  • Pop-up vendors and activities
  • Public art displays
  • Family-friendly entertainment
  • A relaxed, pedestrian-only atmosphere

With no vehicle traffic, visitors can safely wander the avenue, discover local businesses, and enjoy one of Winnipeg’s favourite summer destinations at their own pace.
