Winnipeg shoppers won’t have to wait much longer for another UNIQLO location.

After the successful launch of the retailer’s first Manitoba store at CF Polo Park in May, UNIQLO has now provided its latest update on the company’s second Winnipeg location, confirming that the new St. Vital Centre store is still on track to open this fall.

While an exact grand opening date has not yet been announced, UNIQLO officially included the St. Vital Centre location as one of five new Canadian stores scheduled to open during Fall 2026. The company says additional details, including the opening date and grand opening celebrations, will be announced closer to launch.

Opening Fall 2026

The latest announcement confirms that Winnipeg’s second UNIQLO store remains on schedule for a Fall 2026 opening, meaning shoppers can likely expect doors to open sometime between September and November.

The St. Vital Centre location is part of UNIQLO’s continued Canadian expansion, with new stores also planned for Ontario, Quebec, and British Columbia. Once these locations open, UNIQLO will operate 42 stores across Canada.

Where Will the Store Be?

The new store is being built inside St. Vital Centre, giving shoppers in south Winnipeg a much more convenient option than travelling across the city to CF Polo Park. It will be conveniently located centre court.

Construction has been progressing behind the scenes for several months after renovation permits were issued to transform multiple retail spaces into a large-format UNIQLO store. Although the retailer has not released the exact square footage, the location is expected to feature the same modern layout and broad product selection found at other Canadian UNIQLO stores.

Building on the Success of Polo Park

UNIQLO officially entered the Manitoba market when its first Winnipeg store opened at CF Polo Park on May 15.

The grand opening drew large crowds, with shoppers lining up early for exclusive giveaways, limited-edition Winnipeg merchandise, and opening weekend promotions. The arrival of the Japanese apparel retailer had been one of Winnipeg’s most anticipated retail openings in years.

The success of the Polo Park location appears to reinforce UNIQLO’s confidence in the local market, with the company moving ahead on its second Winnipeg store just months later. Rather than testing the market with a single location, UNIQLO has committed to serving both the west and south ends of the city.

What Shoppers Can Expect

If you’ve already visited the Polo Park store, the St. Vital Centre location should offer a very similar shopping experience.

Customers can expect:

  • Clothing for men, women, children, and babies
  • UNIQLO’s popular HEATTECH collection for cold-weather layering
  • AIRism apparel designed to keep you cool during warmer months
  • Ultra Light Down jackets and outerwear
  • Seasonal collections and collaborations
  • The popular UT graphic T-shirt collection

Like other Canadian stores, the new location is expected to feature UNIQLO’s signature minimalist design, self-service shopping experience, and focus on its “LifeWear” philosophy—comfortable, functional everyday clothing designed to last.

New Exclusive Merchandise Available at UNIQLO St. Vital

One of the biggest surprises during the CF Polo Park grand opening was the release of exclusive Winnipeg-themed merchandise created in collaboration with local artists and businesses. Shoppers were able to purchase limited-edition T-shirts and tote bags featuring designs inspired by Winnipeg landmarks, culture, and community, making them highly sought-after souvenirs that quickly became collector’s items.

While UNIQLO has not yet announced whether exclusive merchandise will be available for the St. Vital Centre opening, shoppers can likely expect something similar based on the success of the Polo Park launch. If the retailer follows the same approach, the new store could feature a fresh collection of limited-edition apparel and accessories created in partnership with different local artists, designers, or Winnipeg-based businesses, giving fans another chance to pick up products that are unique to Manitoba.

More Details Still to Come

For now, UNIQLO has only confirmed that the St. Vital Centre store will open during Fall 2026, with the exact grand opening date still to be announced.

Based on how the company handled the Polo Park launch, shoppers can likely expect opening-day promotions, giveaways, and special events once the official date is revealed.

With two Winnipeg stores operating before the end of the year, local shoppers will have easier access than ever to one of the world’s fastest-growing apparel retailers without needing to leave Manitoba.
