Flashing….lights, lights, lights, lights

Canad Inns is opening up “Winter Wonderland” this Friday November 28th 2008. This year marks the 9th year that the “wonderland” has been around. It’s one of my favorite displays that I always look forward to every holiday season. The wonderland which is located at the Red River Ex grounds, will be running over a million lights, which will be used to make up around 130 displays and 26 animated displays.

If you’ve never been, then I highly recommend that you do go. Basically it’s a display of lights that you view as you drive though the park with your car. Or you can take a ride in a heated sleigh. It’s a pretty neat experience that kids and adults can enjoy. But that’s not all the wonderland has to offer. There is also a skating rink.

What’s new at this years display? Canad Inns decided to convert the lights to LED’s. The new LEDs will save energy that is equivalent to a TV running 24/7 for 10 years. That’s pretty amazing.

Admission to the park will be $15 per vehicle. Save $5 by purchasing advance admission at any Mac’s Convenience Store, Red River Co-op Gas bars, and any Canad Inns hotel. Sleigh rides are free every Friday, Saturday and Sunday (first come first serve basis).

The park will be open from everyday from 6pm – 10 pm starting November 28th 2008 until January 4th. (closed on Christmas Day)
