Mayor Sam Katz has announced the bearer to carry the Olympic Torch when it passes through Winnipeg 0n January 7, 2010.

He is 14-year old Noah Palansky. Noah raised 14-thousand dollars for CancerCare in just three weeks. After his mother was diagnosed with cancer in April 2008, he has pledged to raise one million. Former Olympic rower Sandra Kirby as well as University of Manitoba Winnipeg President Lloyd Axworthy will also carry the torch.
