On Thursday, February 11, 2010, Winnipeg based comedian Ryan McMahon will hold a
fundraiser at Aqua Books (274 Garry Street) to assist in the production of his debut comedy
CD. The event, hosted by CBC’s Wab Kinew and Waub Rice (performing as a debut comedy
duo) will feature performances from Ryan McMahon/Clarence Two Toes, as well as special
guests (TBA). Tickets are $12 and the show (which is a licensed event – 18+) begins at 8
PM (doors at 7 PM).
“It’s going to be a great night of performances and a celebration of Aboriginal comedy,” said
Ryan McMahon. “I’m very excited to have such a diverse line up of well known artists from
Indian Country and I’m even more excited to take them out of their element and bring them
into mine – performing comedy.”
The fundraiser is to assist in the production of McMahon’s debut double comedy CD. The
first disc will be recorded LIVE at Central Michigan University in Mt. Pleasant on March 13,
2010. The performance will feature his standup comedy as well as some of his alternative
material. For the second disc, McMahon will completely revamp his original podcast series.
Everyone who attends the fundraiser will receive a free copy of McMahon’s comedy CD,
which is slated for a June 2010 release. The fundraiser will feature exciting and hilarious
performances from many special guests, door prizes, a 50/50 draw, and of course a chance
to see what Clarence Two Toes is all about.

Having seen Ryan on and around the local standup scene, I can testify he is the real deal. Working on radio with his Clarence Two Toes character or developing a sitcom does not stop the man from working to build up his own material or the local comedy scene. He’s always at the local open mics with fresh material and big energy that steals the crowd and makes him hard to follow.
