This years labour day long weekend won’t be nearly as hot and sunny as last years, but it’ll still be warm/dry enough to enjoy a day at the park or beach. As usual, move theatres will be open for those afraid of the sun.

Shopping Centres:
Kildonan Place: Closed September 6
Polo Park: Closed September 6
St. Vital Shopping Centre: Closed September 6
Garden City Shopping Centre: Closed September 6

Recycling/Garabge:
Houses: There will be no recycling or garbage collection on Monday, September 6, 2010. Collection will resume on Tuesday, September 7, 2010 – Day 4 on the five-day cycle.
Apartments: Recycling and garbage collection will continue as normally scheduled.

Winnipeg Transit:
On Monday, September 6, 2010, Winnipeg Transit will operate on a Sunday schedule. For more information, call 311 or visit http://www.winnipegtransit.com.

Libraries:
All libraries are closed on Monday, September 6. Fall and Winter Hours start September 7. See Winnipeg.ca/library for library schedules and locations.

Zoo:
Open 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Saturday, Sunday and Monday.

Conservatory:
Open 9:00 am. to 4:30 p.m. Saturday; and 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Sunday and Monday.

Pools:
All indoor pools are closed on Monday, September 6 except Cindy Klassen Recreation Complex which will open from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Outdoor Pools:
Weather permitting, the following four outdoor pools will be open on Saturday, September 4, Sunday, September 5 and Monday, September 6:

* Kildonan Park,
* Lions,
* Westdale

Wading Pools:
Weather permitting, the following 16 wading pools will be open on Saturday, September 4, Sunday, September 5 and Monday, September 6:

* J.H. Bruns Park,
* Home Playground,
* Keenleyside Park,
* McKittrick Park, Norquay
* Community Club,

* Vimy Ridge Park,
* River Osborne,
* Machray Park.

Hours vary; however, most wading pools are open from 11:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Spray Pads:
Five unsupervised spray pads are open over the long weekend, at the following locations:

* Fort Rouge Park,
* Lindenwoods Community Centre,

* River Heights Community Centre ,
* St. Norbert Community Centre.

Hours of operation are 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
