Sony officially unveiled it’s next generation portable gaming system last night. It remains code named NGP (Next Generation Portable). There is no confirmation on if it will be called the PSP2.

The device will be huge, bigger than the existing PSP which is big already. Here is a size comparison.

It has a 16:9 5″ OLED touch screen, sixxaxis controls, 2 analog sticks, 2 microphones, 2 cameras, built-in gps, A9 quad-core processor, and built-in 3g and wifi. The back of the system will also feature a touch pad.

My favourite part, they’ve dropped the UMD discs that the original PSP had an now use a small flash memory based card.

It’s expected to be released by the end of 2011. Full reveal video above.
