As Brian Bowman promised in his October campaign, Winnipeg will see its lowest property tax increase in three years.

The city’s operating budget featured a property tax increase of 2.3%. For an average home assessed at $263,000, it will be an additional $37 on the annual tax bill.

In addition to the property tax increase, the annual garbage-disposal fee for all home owners has been increased to $55 from $50. There is also an increase to the frontage levy. For a 50-foot lot, the levy will be $30.
