The 2016 School Trustee By-Election for the Winnipeg School Division (Ward 7) will take place on Saturday, November 5, 2016. Eligible voters will have the opportunity to cast a ballot for one candidate for the Office of School Trustee.
Community advance voting for eligible voters will be open on Wednesday, November 2, 2016 from 8:00am to 8:00pm at Lord Selkirk School – 170 Poplar Avenue.
All voters are reminded that they are required to bring identification, such as a driver’s license, which shows name and current address, when they come to vote. If a voter does not have valid government issued photo identification that shows their name and current address, 2 documents that together prove name and current address will be required.
Use of Ballot Marking Devices for Persons with Disabilities
Ballot marking devices are offered at all advance voting locations. The device is designed to provide privacy and accessibility to voters who are blind, vision impaired, or have a disability or condition that would make it difficult or impossible to mark a ballot independently in the usual way.
Voters who are visually impaired or blind will also have the option to use a Braille template or receive assistance at advance polls and on by-election day.
