Due to COVID-19, it’s going to be a very different May long weekend this year. Though most places have re-opened, many will be operating with limited capacity, modified services, and reduced hours.

Here’s what’s open and what’s closed Victoria Day long weekend 2020 (also known as May Long Weekend).

Victoria Day is a federal Canadian statutory holiday celebrated on the last Monday on or before May 24, in honour of both Queen Victoria’s birthday.

U.S. TRAVEL: May long weekend is a very popular time for Winnipeggers to take a shopping trip to the United States. Grand Forks, Fargo, and Minneapolis are very popular shopping destinations for Winnipeggers. Unfortunately, the U.S. border is still closed for non-essential travel. If a U.S. trip is an annual May Long tradition, you’ll have to make different plans.

Please note, though most malls are open, various stores within them still remain closed. Call the specific store before you make the trip.
