The Public Utilities Board (PUB) has approved Centra Gas’s application to decrease the current Primary Gas rate from $0.2396/m3 to $0.1878/m3 starting February 1, 2023.

Gas rates continue to go down in Manitoba. In August 22, gas rates dropped from $0.2055/m3 to $0.1977/m3. Before that, gas rates were slashed 14.2% after seeing a increase of 17.1% back in November, 2021.

The average residential customer is expected to see a 11.5% decrease on their bill and save around $111 a year.

Rates will reviewed again on May 1, 2023. Primary gas is currently a pass-through cost for Centra. The company charges customers what it pays and doesn’t make a profit.
