Outdoor fires, including fire pits, open fires, and the use of fireworks, are currently prohibited in the City of Winnipeg.

During dry weather and high winds, outdoor fires can quickly become dangerous, with flames potentially spreading to nearby buildings or properties. To safeguard the city, the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service has implemented an open-air fire ban under the Neighbourhood Liveability By-Law. This ban prohibits all outdoor fires.

The current ban is in effect until Monday, May 19, 2025 at 6:00pm.
