Kevin McDonald from the classic Kids in the Hall will be performing a one man show titled Hammy and the Kids on Friday, November 13th, 2009, 7:30pm at Gas Station Theatre.
The concept for HAMMY AND THE KIDS came about after the 2004 death of McDonald’s father. During an appearance at the Upright Citizens Brigade (UCB) Theatre (similar to Inside the Actor’s Studio, for comedians), he spent an hour doing off-the-cuff material about The Kids in the Hall, peppered throughout with stories of his drunk father. He realized by creating his own show, he could get the stories off his chest once and for all, and in the mean time, he’d generate his own work and perform whenever he wanted, rather than wait for work to come to him.
Tickets are $37.00 and available online at www.winnipegcomedyfestival.com or in person at the Gas Station Theatre. To reserve tickets, call (204) 284-9477 or email info@winnipegcomedyfestival.com.
