The theme to this years Winter games comes straight out of our national anthem: With Glowing Hearts… and tonight, Vancouver will show the world exactly how bright Canada’s hearts can glow. This will be the third Olympics hosted by Canada. Canada was home to the 1976 Summer Olympics in Montreal, Quebec and the 1988 Winter Olympics in Calgary, Alberta (Cooool runnings!!).
CTV/TSN has won the broadcasting rights for the Opening Ceremonies in Canada. NBC will also be airing it. If for some reason you prefer to follow the American teams, then you’d want to watch the NBC feed. The CTV/TSN feeds will mostly be following Team Canada. All feeds will be available in HD. If your not near a TV, you can also watch it online at ctvolympics.ca.
The festivities start at 6pm Winnipeg time with a pre-show, then followed by the Opening Ceremonies that Vancouver has kept a tight lip on. It should be an amazing demonstration of Canadian culture!
