The brand-new Costco W. Winnipeg officially opens its doors on Thursday, November 13, 2025, at 4077 Portage Avenue West. This long-awaited warehouse replaces the aging St. James location, bringing members a larger shopping experience just in time for the holiday season.
The new Costco features expanded parking, a gas station, and an all-new fresh sushi department where shoppers can pick up made-daily rolls and Japanese-inspired selections. Members can also expect the same wide range of groceries, electronics, clothing, and seasonal finds, all under one spacious roof designed for improved flow and accessibility.
The St. James location officially closes on November 12 to make way for its transformation into a Costco Business Centre, but most of its inventory and staff will transition to the new West Winnipeg warehouse. The move marks a major upgrade for shoppers who have long dealt with limited parking and heavy traffic at the previous site.
