Stony Mountain officials have caught on and are now putting up more preventative measures for people tossing packages over their fence to inmates. They are seeking the assistance from residents around the penitentiary to report any suspicious activity by calling its hotline at 344-7132.
On March 7, a guard caught someone throwing over more than one package over the outside prison fence. Staff recovered 150 grams of marijuana valued at $12,000 inside prison walls, and a cellphone and a wireless e-mail device. This was not the first attempt guards have caught packages being thrown over the walls this year. Guards have also seen similar incidents in January and February.
Some people will never stop.
