Jimmy Ginakes, 74 started his restaurant career as a dishwasher 60 years ago.
He then began operating The Thunderbird restaurant and the Town & Country nightclub before him and his son took over the Pony Corral franchise in Winnipeg.
While on an annual trip to his home village of Niata, he suffered from a heart attack. His cousin took him to a hospital in nearby Molaoi, about 300 kilometres south of Athens where he passed away.
Jimmy “The Greek” will be missed by all whose lives he touched.
