Canada Post Rates Have Gone Up

Published

Starting today (Monday, January 11, 2010) the cost to send a first class letter within Canada will rise from 54 cents to 57 cents.

Letters to the U.S., which used to cost 95 cents, will now be $1.00. Letters to foreign countries will rise be $1.70 from $1.65.

Canada Post says the increase is due to mail-processing equipment being pushed to the limit and the need for new machinery.
