Portage Place Shopping Centre is partnering up with non-profit organization LiteracyWORKS in their mission to provide adults and youth with literacy as an essential life skill. From January 14th until February 19th, 2010, generous shoppers who donate a new or used book will receive a free movie pass for four to a classic family film – The NeverEnding Story.

Books are being accepted at the mall’s Customer Service Centre, located on the second floor next to Edmonton Court and the escalators. All books collected will be included in the LiteracyWORKS book sale taking place in Edmonton Court February 22nd to the 26th.

The free family film screening will take place on Saturday, February 27th at the Globe Cinema in Portage Place. This screening marks the premiere of a new free family film program that will distribute passes to Portage Place patrons in a variety of ways over the next year.
