They’re back! Halloween Boo Bucket Happy Meals will once again be available at McDonald’s restaurants across Canada! However, you’ll have to hurry… These nostalgic buckets will only be available for an extremely limited time or while supplies last.
The buckets first made their return to Canada in 2022 and they sold out in just a few hours after store opening.
Starting October 16, 2023, Happy Meals purchased will get a Boo Bucket while quantities last. The bucket will replace both the toy and box that normally accompanies a Happy Meal.
There are 6 types of Happy Meals available in Canada:
- 4 Chicken McNuggets Happy Meal
- Cheeseburger Happy Meal
- Hamburger Happy Meal
- Snack Wrap with Crispy Chicken Happy Meal
- Snack Wrap with Grilled Chicken Happy Meal
- Hotcakes Happy Meal
Will Halloween Boo Buckets Sell Out in Canada?

What Color Boo Buckets Will Be Available in Canada?
McDonalds has announced 4 colors: Skeleton (orange), Monster (green), Mummy (white) and Vampire (purple). The OG purple Boo Bucket is new for 2023. It’s worth noting that only the orange bucket was available in Canada in 2022. We’re hoping that Canada will get all 4 colors this year, but we wont be surprised if its only the orange bucket again.
A Blast From The Past
Boo Buckets were first introduced to McDonald’s restaurants in 1986. Happy Meals would come packaged in cute Halloween-themed buckets instead of their regular house-shaped cardboard packaging. Kids could then use the buckets when trick-or-treating. Though they looked really cool, you won’t be fitting a lot of candy in them. The ever-so-trust worthy pillow-case still remains the ultimate trick-or-treating pail!
