Equity cheque season has arrived once again, and members of Red River Co-op have reason to celebrate. For the fourth consecutive year, the co-operative is rewarding its members with strong equity returns, with 2026 cheques now making their way to mailboxes across Manitoba.
Based on the 2025 fiscal year, an impressive $2.6 million has been returned to members. That payout reflects the continued strength of the co-op model and the loyalty of thousands of local shoppers who fuel up, fill prescriptions, and stock their kitchens at Red River Co-op locations throughout the region.

This year’s equity return breaks down into meaningful savings across everyday essentials. Members received:
- 10 cents per litre on fuel purchases
- 2.0% back on food purchases
- 4.0% back on the full price of pharmacy prescriptions
For families and commuters alike, those returns can quickly add up over the course of a year.
The co-op is also launching something new this year: Benefits Beyond Equity. While full details are still to come, the initiative promises additional savings, giveaways, and surprises designed to further recognize and celebrate members. Shoppers are encouraged to keep an eye on social media channels for updates in the weeks ahead.
Becoming a member remains simple and affordable. For a one-time $5 fee, individuals can become lifetime members with no annual dues or renewals required. Applications can be completed in person at any location or online through the co-op’s website.
Beyond returning profits to members, Red River Co-op continues to play a major role in strengthening local communities. In 2025 alone, $2.6 million was directed to more than 100 charitable organizations, community groups, and non-profits that align with the co-op’s values. From grassroots initiatives to established community programs, those funds help support the people and projects that make Manitoba stronger.
