The Spring melt has begun and the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service reminds residents to be cautious around ice-covered bodies of water including rivers, streams, creeks, ponds and ditches.

We live in a city where two large rivers meet (Red and Assiniboine Rivers) – so there will be plenty of open bodies of water. Melting ice on these bodies creates extremely dangerous conditions.

Stay safe Winnipeg!
