According to a study by the Canadian Institute for Health information, Manitoba has the longest emergency room wait times in the country.


The median time spent by a patient from checking into the emergency room to the time they’re discharged is around 4 hours (national average is 2.5 hours). 9 out of 10 Emergency Room visits in Manitoba are completed within 13 hours (national average is 7.5 hours).
